Notification about the Postal Code Change

Effective 1st August 2015, South Korea government will convert the current 6-digit postal code structure to a new set of 5-digit postal code. DHL Korea has set up necessary measures as below for your conveniences.
  1. Change of your postal code: The postal code you registered in our database at the time of issuing your account number will be updated by DHL Korea automatically.
  2. How to enter postal code when requesting pick-up: You can still use the 6-digit postal code together with the new 5-digit until the end of June 2016 when requesting pick-up through DHL electronic shipping solutions (ex. MyDHL)
  3. Recommendations: Both the existing 6-digit and new 5-digit postal codes are available in all DHL Express customer applications until the end of June 2016. DHL Korea has already established dual postal code system in order to reduce the impact of postal code change. However, it is highly recommend that you use the 5-digit postal code as soon as possible since the old postal code will expire on June 30, 2016. Only new 5-digit postal code can be used beginning 1st July 2016.
In addition, when using the Import Express Service, you are required to inform the consignor of South Korea’s new postal code in advance.
To avoid customs clearance delay and misclassification issues may please use the new 5-digit postal code correctly.
DHL Korea will try its utmost effort to minimize the impact of this postal code change.
